Students at the school begin their educational experience with a needs assessment. The pupil then progresses through one-on-one and small-group opportunities in the classroom, in counseling, in spiritual guidance and in recreational activities. Beacon aims to successfully return every child to a public school or a less intensive day program. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, Conduct Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, Emotional Disturbances, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Differences, Mood Disorder, Multiple Sclerosis, Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, Orthopedic/Neurological Disabilities, Pervasive Development Disorder, Psychosis, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Speech/Languague Impairments, School Phobia, Schizophrenia, Tourette’s Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury.
