Balmoral Hall School

630 Westminster Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 3S1 Canada

BH resulted from the 1950 merger of the Riverbend and Rupert's Land Schools. The junior school (nursery through grade 5), which incorporates research and practice from a range of national systems, follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program. Instruction focuses upon critical- and creative-thinking skills, as well as strong arts and technology programs. Middle school course work (grades 6-8) features the IB Middle Years Program and prepares girls for the more challenging material they will face in the higher grades. Advanced Placement courses and an array of electives are noteworthy features of the college preparatory senior school curriculum (grades 9-12). BH’s dance program, which is based on the Royal Academy of Dance’s curriculum, encourages active participation in the performing arts and promotes healthy lifestyles. An elite ice hockey program provides skilled players with advanced training and development opportunities: In addition to a high school team, the school offers a developmental skills program and a skating skills program for pupils in grades 3-8. The boarding program serves both international students, who may take part in an integrated ESL program, and Canadian residents.
