Atlanta Speech School–Wardlaw School
3160 Northside Pky NW, Atlanta, GA 30327
The Wardlaw School, a division of the Atlanta Speech School, serves children with mild to moderate language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia. The program integrates individualized remediation with a comprehensive school program. Oral communication, language comprehension, vocabulary development and conversational skills are key components of the program. To allow for individualized programming, class size is kept small. Classes are nongraded and instructional groupings are based on age, social maturity, and general cognitive and skill levels. The Wardlaw School uses a collaborative model that incorporates language-based instruction throughout the curriculum. Speech-language pathologists work with classroom teachers to design and implement the classroom curriculum, then work individually with children as needed. Reading specialists employ research-based, multisensory methods of instruction. The school accepts the following conditions: Auditory Processing Disorders, Discalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, Learning Differences.
