American School of Madrid

Apartado 80, 28080 Madrid, Spain

Located on a site overlooking the city, this school, originally founded to serve the American community in Madrid, now attracts an international student body. During the high school years, ASM offers a US-style curriculum, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and the official Spanish curriculum, thus allowing pupils to prepare for colleges around the world. Many students graduate with the ability to speak three languages—English, Spanish and French—fluently. Nonnative English speakers in grades 1-8 who have above-average skills in their home languages may participate in Immersion English, a component of the ESL program that enables children to develop proficiency in an accelerated time frame and thus be prepared to continue their studies in the school's international high school program.
