Although English is the primary language of instruction at ASB, students in grades 1-5 receive one hour of daily Portuguese foreign language instruction. Brazilian social studies is taught in Portuguese for Brazilian pupils, and in English for others. The college preparatory high school program includes Advanced Placement courses and allows boys and girls to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma, or a US or a Brazilian diploma. Students in grades 9-12 perform 45 hours of required community service prior to graduation.
