American International School of Vilnius
Subaciaus St 41, Vilnius, 11350 Lithuania
Enrolling pupils from approximately 20 countries, AISV offers an English-medium program that has been adapted from the American curriculum. Accepting children beginning at age 20 months, the toddler program incorporates art, music, stories, games, group play and individual expression. The prekindergarten and kindergarten programs focus on fundamental skill development and school readiness. AISV's lower school (grades 1-5), which facilitates academic transition to and from the school, supplements work in the core disciplines with specialist-taught computer, art, library, Lithuanian language and culture, and physical education classes. Beginning in grade 4, pupils who do not require ESL instruction take either French or German. The middle school (grades 6-8) serves as a transition from the self-contained approach in the elementary grades to the departmentalized structure in high school. Suitable for students of all nationalities, the abbreviated high school program employs resources largely from the US. All pupils in grades 9 and 10 participate in weekly community service.
