American International School of Niamey
Situated adjacent to the US Embassy in Niger, AISN provides an American-style curriculum with an emphasis on community-based learning experiences. Boys and girls have met with Peace Corps volunteers in their villages, have embarked on safari trips and have studied environmental concerns in the region. The school community spends a week each year in a small traditional village, and students raise funds and make regular visits to AISN's sister school for squatters. The school schedules after-school activities on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Options include a rotating selection of arts, sports and recreational offerings, some of which incur an additional fee.
