American International School of Lome
35 Rue Kayigan Lawson, BP 852, Lome, Togo
The school was started by American missionary parents who wanted an American curriculum to meet the needs of their children in a French-speaking country. Individually guided education is stressed, and every child may pursue independent study. Physical education activities include fundamental rhythm, gymnastics and team sports. French study is required for all students through grade 8. Students in grades 9-12 enroll in correspondence course work through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with daily assistance from AISL teachers.
