The country's only international school, AISK combines the inquiry methods of American education with the standards of more traditional national programs. Hands-on learning methods are in use during the elementary years (grades PS-5); specialist teachers conduct music, Spanish, art and physical education classes. French and Spanish are the languages available in the middle school (grades 6-8), and the curriculum includes an exploratory block that allows children to chooses electives in the areas of art, music, information technology and health. The college preparatory high school (grades 9-12) culminates with the IB Diploma Program in grades 11 and 12. Many graduates matriculate at colleges in the US, with significant numbers of students attending universities in Canada, the United Kingdom and Jamaica.
